Ever wonder what the impact moms have on social networking especially with Facebook and Twitter? The Mom Central Consulting Research Team explored this question with their Engaging with Brands Survey. Over 1300 moms filled out the survey to help us better understand how Moms interact with brands on Facebook and Twitter.
Here is what they learned:
General Facebook and Social Media Usage
- 71% of you maintain both a Twitter and Facebook account with 30% on Facebook only.
- 54% say you check into Facebook ALL DAY LONG and 28% check in multiple times a day.
Brand Engagement
- Most of you follow 10 or more brands on Facebook and Twitter and expect to hear from them on a daily or weekly basis.
- Most often, you seek out brands on Facebook and Twitter because you feel satisfied, interested or impressed with a company, rather than for negative reasons or to express feelings of anger, disappointment or frustration.
- If you “follow” or “like” a company/brand – it increases WOM and purchasing behavior.
49% strongly agree that you feel more informed about the company’s promotions (91% agree or strongly agree)
-
- 40% strongly agree that you are more likely to recommend the company to a friend (79% agree or strongly agree)
-
- 40% strongly agree that you feel more connected to the brand (81% agree or strongly agree)
-

- Word-of-mouth may start online but it quickly moves offline in to everyday life.
-
- 78% of you reported noticing a company or product more frequently when out in everyday life (away from the computer) because you “like” or “friend” it.
